Shen Nanzhi assumes the identity of Su Ying and infiltrates the military governor's residence to uncover the truth behind her family's massacre. Unexpectedly, she spends the night with the governor, Yan Jiulin, who becomes fond of her. However, the next day, the scheming Meng Ying steals her identity and becomes his concubine instead.
