Partisan Ski Races - Cerkno '45

The Partisan Ski Competition in Cerkno on 20 and 21 January 1945 was a unique sporting event with more than 40 partisans in attendance. The event took place in the liberated partisan town of Cerkno, surrounded by 15,000 members of German and other enemy units within an 80-kilometre radius. Even so, more than 1,000 spectators came to see the races.
