Born March 5, 1956 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Otto Guerra Netto is a Brazilian filmmaker, animator, and screenwriter. He is considered one of the pioneers of auteur animation in Brazil, being the creator of Otto Desenhos Animados, which has established itself as one of the most important animation studios in the country. Guerra is definitely not a conventional filmmaker. As a child, he worried his family by drawing more than recommended. He created his production company at the age of 22 and, as an adult, invested in the production of authorial animations that satirize mass culture and Brazilian conservatism. Part of this filmography made up of adventures, original drawings and a lot of humor can be enjoyed in this exhibition. Among his works are notable films such as "Rocky & Hudson" (1994), "Wood & Stock: Sex, Oregano and Rock'n'Roll" (2006), "Until Sbornia Do Us Part" (2014), and "The City of Pirates" (2019).
