Izzy Willsey is a cinematographer, director, actor, and photographer from Arkansas. She is currently pursuing a BA in Film, while minoring in Theatre. She had no experience before attending college, but has since worked on numerous student films and theatre productions. Their work is inspired by emotionally driven narratives and bold visual aesthetics. Her work often explores themes of identity, nostalgia, and human connection. Izzy believes the strongest films are built through collaboration and is devoted to continually developing her craft as a filmmaker. Since beginning her filmmaking journey, Izzy has worked on a variety of productions in both film and theatre. Her most notable projects include Canvas (2025) and, most recently, Butterfly (2026), both of which were selected as Official Selections for the 2026 International Sound & Film Music Festival. Izzy served as the writer, director, cinematographer, and editor on each project. Her other notable projects include Projection (First Assistant Camera, 2026), Another Body (Costume Supervisor, 2025), Gloom (Acting, 2025), and UCA Theatre’s Hamlet (Assistant Stage Manager, 2025). Working across multiple roles and departments has strengthened her leadership, communication, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving, reinforcing her passion for collaborative storytelling and visual filmmaking.
